2013-2014 Enrollment Packet for New Students
Enrollment for the 2013 - 2014 School Year
Corrales International School will offer grades Kindergarten through 10th for the 2013-2014 academic year. A Lottery to determine admission for the 2013-2014 school year will be held on February 5, 2012 at 5pm. All available positions will be offered at that time. Upon completion of the Lottery, waitlists will be established for each grade. Should you wish to add a student to the wait list, after the Lottery Drawing for 2013-2014, you may download an application from the school website, and return it when completed to the Registrar at
3821 Singer Boulevard, Albuquerque, NM 87109. Upon completion and return, the Registrar will formally enroll your student in the waitlist.
Students will be added to the end of the existing waitlists in the order the applications are received. Notification of an available space is made to the next student on the waitlist as soon as an opening occurs. The current waitlist will remain in effect for the 2013-2014 school year, but will not carry over to subsequent years. For questions regarding admission or enrollment, please email the Registrar at: Dawn@corralesinternationalschool.org
Thank you for your interest in our school.
What grades will CIS offer?
CIS will offer grades kindergarten through tenth. Each class will have approximately 20 students, and only one class will be offered at each grade.
How does the CIS enrollment process work?
We will have a registration period annually for the next school year only. The open registration period for the subsequent school year will be held in early spring—periodically check our website for specific dates. Applications may be picked up and submitted during this time period. The number of available spaces will be determined by subtracting the number of continuing students and their incoming siblings, who are given preference, from the total number of spaces for each grade level. If the number of applicants is less than or equal to available spaces for each grade, these students will be notified that they have been admitted to CIS for the coming year. If the number of applicants exceeds available spaces for a given grade, a lottery process will be used to fill available spaces for that grade.
Is it possible to enroll a child in a New Mexico public school who is younger than 5 years of age?
No, state law requires that children be 5 yrs of age as of September 1st to enroll in a New Mexico public school. Your child, regardless of his/her ability, will not be able to start kindergarten unless the minimum age requirement is met.
