Clubs Information

Corrales International School's doors are open to your children, even after the last bell rings! Our faculty and staff, parents and community are partners in our dedication to providing children the best possible educational environment -- including after the school day is over. Through our after-school opportunities at CIS, we hope your children will view their school as not only a great place to learn, but a place to develop new interests, make good friendships and have fun in the process.
This is an exciting time for children to discover and explore new interests, and at CIS we encourage them to do so by offering a wide variety of after-school clubs and activities. This is also a wonderful way for students to make new friendships and have some fun while they learn!
Clubs meet at different times of the day/week/month, depending on the program, but many will meet once a week, for about an hour. Please contact the club sponser below for more information on each clubs requirements, costs (if any), times and space availablility. Many clubs will fill fast so make sure to register early with the Club Sponser and check back often for new clubs.

Our Permaculture Program works with Corrales International School to provide a club that is offered after school ends. The program starts immediately after school at 3:00pm and ends at 6:00pm on everyday that school is in session. Wednesday’s we start early at 12:30pm and go until 6:00pm. The program is not available when school is closed due to holidays, inclement weather or emergency situations.
Permaculture is an approach to designing human settlements and agricultural systems that mimic the relationships found in natural ecologies. This is based on ecological and biological principles, often using patterns that occur in nature to maximise effect and minimise work. Permaculture aims to create stable, productive systems that provide for human needs, harmoniously integrating the land with its inhabitants. The ecological processes of plants, animals, their nutrient cycles, climatic factors and weather cycles are all part of the picture. Inhabitants’ needs are provided for using proven technologies for food, energy, shelter and infrastructure. Elements in a system are viewed in relationship to other elements, where the outputs of one element become the inputs of another. Within a Permaculture system, work is minimised, “wastes” become resources, productivity and yields increase, and environments are restored. Permaculture principles can be applied to any environment, at any scale from dense urban settlements to individual homes, from farms to entire regions.

Permaculture Process
The Permaculture registration and payment process will follow these steps bellow:
- First your child needs to be registered with the Club by using the Permaculture Registration Form. This is a one time form that is needed for contact information. There is a one time fee of $25/year/child for registering your child in the club. Your child has to be registered to be allowed into the club.
- There are 2 ways to use the club. You can use it as needed (drop in rate $6.00/hr/child) or monthly ($200.00 per child).
- As the program is used, your child will be signed into the program as he/she comes into
the program. When your child is picked up, it is vital that your child is signed out of the
program with the time. This will be used to track your child's location and use of the
program. - At the end of each week, the total time used will be totaled by Jennifer Martyn
- This information will be compared to the sign up sheet that was provided. Tonia
Padilla will compare the information and send out the bills
to the parents via email monthly. - All payments must be paid with a credit card.
This 6 week club will meet starting on October 13 from 1:40 to 2:40pm at CIS. Meetings will be on October 13,20, 27 and November 3, 10 and 17. The fee for this club is $60/child and siblings are half price.
